SOME EXAMPLES OF SUCCESS STORIES
After suffering a dog attack, our YorkshireTerrier Jolene had
issues with fear aggression and was not a happy dog. She would boss us around bark and pull on the lead at other dogs while out walking
.
Gemma was our third dog trainer and has managed to succeed where others have failed. She immediately gained respect from Jolene and was able to communicate with her. She showed us what we would have to do to earn Jolene's respect and very quickly we were able to regain control. Very quickly she was able to relax around Gemma's calm assertive dog Sasha, and she relearned how to behave like a well balanced dog.
The result is a very happy, submissive dog and two much more relaxed owners.

Gemma, Thank you for giving my dog a purpose in life considering his breeding and nature. Eight years ago you trained him to be the most formidable guard dog. And now at the age of nine, he still continues to guard my house, land and outbuildings as well as he always did.
Whilst training him to guard, you also showed him to respect me as his leader and that when I am present, I call the shots with regards to strangers approaching my property.
Out of everyone though, he holds you on a pedestal as pack leader when you are present (even above me). But I don’t take offence as you trained him and gave him a strong and fundamental purpose in life. You are truly gifted in your understanding of animals.

MY BOYS
My boys are a pair of boxers, 5 & 3. A small fortune has been spent through numerous trainers and classes on trying to rectify Neo's problems.
Sheer desperation made me trawl the net for a training class in my area that would actually accept such an animal, WHAT LUCK!, I didn't find a training class, but I found, "TAKE THE LEAD", in other words I found Gemma.
On the second consultation: Ah, Gemma. On my door step with her wonderful dog Sasha (we have all probably heard Cesar Milan refer to a "BALANCED" dog, what is a balanced dog? Well session 2 and I know what a balanced dog is, SASHA, what an experience), my 2 manic boisterous almost neurotic dogs, laying quite content in the presence of a completely strange animal, no hassle, no aggression, PEACE. This was followed by a walk on the lead, by this, I mean, all 3 dogs walking side by side, with no excitement or aggression and all being handled by Gemma. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I definitely would not have believed it. It took 3 sessions with Gemma to rectify all my problems. I cannot thank Gemma enough for putting order back into my life, not only has she achieved what I thought was the impossible with my dogs, but has also given me the tools to be a better and more effective dog owner. Regardless of what type of dog you have or what problems you are experiencing, I have every confidence in recommending you contact Gemma at TAKE THE LEAD.

"Gemma was recommended to us by a friend and we have been really pleased at the progress she has made with our 2 springers in just two sessions. They are brothers and were showing a lot of aggression towards each other.
Gemma explained the "pack" was out of order and we needed to re-establish ourselves as leaders and then recognise who was the more dominant dog. They have calmed down hugely since we started taking Gemma's advice and now we are learning to walk to heel!"

I was having major problems with my dogs barking constantly when I went to work. They are both adult dogs and are never left alone for more than 5 hours at a time. I contacted Gemma at Take The Lead, who arranged a consultation with me. Gemma was more than thorough with questions that she asked me about my dogs’ movements and daily routine.
I recorded them barking on my MP3 Player and Gemma listened to it during the consultation. The first thing that you heard was the bark, then leading to a constant barking and howling scenario. She then asked me for a copy of the sound recordings. She then listened to the dogs for a considerable length of time at home (not a task I would have enjoyed). Gemma rang me a few days later and said: “You didn’t hear the initiating growl”. Gemma then instructed me accordingly and gave me the solution. I have had no trouble since. Thank you so much Gemma you’re a life saver. My neighbours are also grateful!
